While running lead generation and brand recognition campaigns for a health and wellness company, our team at NectarSpot, often encounters various notifications warning us about various policy violations ( out of 522 as of Jul 2024) - including ( but not limited to) ‘customer match policies’, ‘clickbait, Addction Services, Business Name Requirements ec.’ etc.
As per Google “Ads that use clickbait tactics or sensationalist text or imagery to drive traffic” are those that claim to reveal secrets, scandals or other sensationalist information about the product or service being advertised;
Ads which use clickbait messaging such as ‘‘Click here to find out”, “You won’t believe what happened” or phrases synonymous or similar to encourage the user to click on the Ad in order to understand the full context of the ad; ads which use clearly altered zoomed in body parts, mugshots, or real life accident or disaster photos to promote a product or a service; or ads which use “before and after” images to promote significant alterations to the human body.

For health and wellness companies such as Medical Spa, Weight Loss Clinics, Therapeutic Massage, Acupuncture, and Chiropractor - it is inevitable not to show non-revealing body parts ( such as some receiving acupuncture with needles, etc.). In such a case, it is important to review the ads and fix them to get it running again. After fixing the ads, Google representatives review them and allow them to run if they comply with policy.
As per Google -
“Some healthcare-related content can’t be advertised at all, while others can only be advertised if the advertiser is certified with Google and targets only approved countries.”
